Book of the
Month! Prodigal Daughters by
Donna Steichen Prodigal Daughters
helps us to see with open eyes the great mercy that God has for all his
people, the hope we must have for all sinners, for those who have
fallen away from the Church and for those who rebel against
it. Like the Prodigal Son in the Bible
who was welcomed home from his sinful life, so has God the Father welcomed home
these women and embraced them as His lost sheep. So too for many
others. Each one shows how even while looking elsewhere for God
and for meaning in New Age occultism, Christianity without the sacraments,
the arts, nature, personal achievement, etc, God still kept seeking them
and speaking to their hearts. They tell of their confusion, doubt and
misunderstanding of the Church but how they felt empty, alone and had no
sense of direction while they were away from it. Each explains how and why
they were misguided and then how they were led back to belief in God and the
Catholic Church. All the stories are relative to eachother and to society as we
know it. This is invaluable reading for the world we live in
today. The narratives related here by
seventeen women are compelling and inspiring and truly real to read covering
many different ways of life and directions. This book is thoroughly enjoyable
and highly recommended! «««« If you would like to give your review of a book on this site please email us |
