A wife, mother and medical doctor, St. Gianna Molla (1922-1962) heroically sacrificed her own life to save her unborn child. An Italian woman who had a great love for life, Gianna was an avid snow skier, an outstanding pianist, a devoted wife and mother, and a dedicated physician. In an age when marriage, family life, virtue and holiness are under assault from all sides, the life and example of Gianna is a striking witness of hope, love and beauty.
The inspiring story and message of this thoroughly modern woman has a very wide appeal to all ages and walks of life. This powerful documentary includes interviews with her husband and children, friends and relatives, excerpts from her letters, and great film clips of Gianna herself. It also includes wonderful footage from her canonization ceremony in Rome when she was canonized a saint by Pope John Paul II on May 16, 2004.
